TITLE: Repair techniques for fractured metal-ceramic restorations – a review of the literature
STRESZCZENIE: Mimo dynamicznego rozwoju technologii CAD/CAM i szerokiego zastosowania uzupełnień pełnoceramicznych oraz na podbudowie z tlenku cyrkonumetalowo-porcelanowe prace protetyczne są obecnie najczęściej stosowane. Zapewniają one zadowalającą estetykę i znacznie większą wytrzymałość mechaniczną od uzupełnień pełnoceramicznych. Uszkodzenia tych konstrukcji dotyczą w większości przypadków warstwy ceramicznej lub połączenia porcelany z metalem. Uszkodzenia mogą wynikać z nieprawidłowości postępowania laboratoryjnego, naturalnych właściwości materiału,czynników związanych z postępowaniem lekarskim i niewłaściwym użytkowaniem przez pacjenta. Istnieją dwie metody wewnątrzustnej naprawy uzupełnień metalowo porcelanowych:metoda bezpośrednia i pośrednia.

SUMMARY: Despite the dynamic development of the CAD/CAM technology and the wide spread use of all-ceramic restorations and zirconium oxide frame work, metal porcelain restorations are most frequently used. They provide satis factory aesthetics and much greater mechanical strength than all-ceramic restorations. Damage to these structures occurs mostly in the ceramic layer, or between porcelain and metal. Damage may result from irregularities occurring in a laboratory, the natural properties of the material, factors associated with the medical procedure and the improper use of a restoration by a patient. There are two methods of the intra oral repair of metal porcelain restorations: a direct and indirect method.
