Zastosowanie stopów metali nieszlachetnych w protetyce stomatologicznej
Title: The use of base metal alloys in prosthodontics
Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie szerokiego zastosowania stopów nieszlachetnych w wykonawstwie uzupełnień protetycznych. Omówione zostały zadania współczesnej protetyki stomatologicznej, różne podziały protez stomatologicznych oraz charakterystyka protez stałych i ruchomych. W artykule zawarto również charakterystykę metali i ich stopów oraz wymagania stawiane tym materiałom. Przeanalizowano również problem, jakim jest korozja stopów metali stosowanych w jamie ustnej. Przedstawiono różne metody wykonywania konstrukcji metalowych, tj.: tradycyjne odlewnictwo, system CAD/CAM oraz technologię SLS.

Summary: The aim of the paper is to present a wide range of base metal alloys in the manufacture of prosthodontic restorations. The tasks of contemporary prosthodontics, various classifications of dentures and the characteristics of fixed and removable dentures are discussed. The article also presents the characteristics of metals and their alloys as well as the requirements for these materials. The issue of the corrosion of metal alloys in the oral cavity has also been analysed. Various methods of fabricating metal structures have been presented, i.e. traditional molding, CAD/CAM system and the SLS technology.
