Gingival recession is an increasingly common problem affecting the periodontium. More and more patients seek help from specialists. The reasons for consulting a medical practitioner include not only the hypersensitivity characterised by pain caused by the exposed root surfaces, but also the disturbances in the red and white aesthetics. Those changes are more frequently observed in patients who practice good oral hygiene. Gingival recession is the apical migration of the gingival margin to the cement enamel junction (CEJ) (1). The case study presented in this paper describes „classic” recession situated on the vestibular tooth surface, without coexisting inflammation (2). Abundant literary evidence points to the complex etiology of gingival recession. Different factors must be taken into consideration, such as morphological and anatomical disorders (dehiscence in the lamina of the alveolar process, incorrect tooth position, high attachment of the frenulum and muscles) Of no less significance are the techniques used by patients during oral hygiene care, such as traumatic tooth brushing (e.g.: horizontal brushing) using a hard bristle toothbrush, and applying excessive force while brushing. Attention should also be given to iatrogenic factors: incorrect prosthetic, conservative, or orthodontic treatment. Occlusal overload and bruxism may also contribute to the development and progression of gingival recession (3-4).

Over the years, surgical techniques have been developed which ensured complete and predictable [...]
