Ocena wieku zębowego na zdjęciach ortopantomograficznych
Conclusion
The study established that the dental age for both the girls and boys was advanced for particular age clusters. For the girls, the dental and chronological age was the same for ten-year-olds, while for the boys, the chronological age was more significant than the dental age for those aged between 10 and 11 years. The study thus demonstrates limitations for the Poland (Lodz State) population since the standards that the Demirjian study provided based on the French-Canadian children are only applicable to specific age groups. Hence, the results of the study suggest the need to establish new population-specific standards to match the diversity in the different sample structures. Moreover, further research is crucial for all age groups comprising of a more significant sample to improve the accuracy of the estimation of the chronological age.
