Przypadek torbieli korzeniowej spowodowanej przetrwałym korzeniem zęba mlecznego u 17-letniej pacjentki
This examination confirmed the suspicions regarding the presence of a persistent root of tooth 15 in the space between roots of teeth 16 and 15.
The surgical procedure was performed in the planned mode under general anesthesia at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Regional Hospital in Toruń. The decision regarding general anesthesia was caused by a possible risk of opening of the maxillary sinus over a large area which would result in the necessity to extend the procedure with the sinus revision. The procedure was performed in accordance with the applicable protocol.
A trapezoidal incision was made from tooth 17 to tooth 14, creating a mucoperiosteal flap. The bundle bone was lowered from the vestibular surface of the alveolar at the level of the tip of the root of tooth 15, showing the wall of the cyst follicle (fig. 6). Then, resection of 1/3 of the apical length of the root of tooth 15 was performed.
The cyst follicle was enucleated, in the lumen of which there was the root of the deciduous tooth. The bone wall of the cavity after the removal of the cyst was smooth and continuous.
